Times of stillness and beauty

There are those times when He says, Peace be still....and the snow begins to fall and quiet falls.

The air alive with activity....brings a silent hush to the country side.

People stop their endless scurrying and settle down to enjoy Gods creative hand.

Trees are draped in white....only to willing to carry the weightiness of the contents of Heavens storehouses.

And then the night falls.....and in the silence God drapes the world in a hush that brings rest.

And though His people sleep.....He is ever on His throne guarding and protecting.
\o/
Morning dawns with views that make one catch their breath at the purity of the Masters work.

Breaks in the clouds....give way to glorious blue skies....

The scenes leave one in a state of incredible awe....with these treasures given so freely here on earth..... what must heaven be holding in store for those who are found faithful to the end?

Life is not a picnic....:)......but oh the glory that awaits those who have selected the
high road...the road seldom chosen by those who would rather an easy journey.

Isaiah 55:10& 11 (Amplified Bible)

10For as the rain and snow come down from the heavens, and return not there again, but water the earth and make it bring forth and sprout, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater
11So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Blessed be the name of our Lord.

Sharon,
You got some awesome photos! We've been enjoying the snow, but in a less quiet and still way, as you can imagine. You should consider going into the greeting card/post card business with your pictures.

God's Christmas Present

Let me tell you the story
Of the sweet Jesus Christ,
Who brought heaven to earth,
One cold winter night.

As planned by His Father,
A long time ago,
In the form of a babe,
He came down below.

His divine mission
Unknown at the time,
Was later revealed,
When God felt inclined.

The day the sweet Lord
Was nailed to that cross,
Was the day that God showed,
Mankind was not lost.

By the Son's grief and pain,
Man could be forgiven,
And God gave to man,
A vision of heaven.

But thick in his thinking,
And blind in his heart,
Man missed the Lord's meaning,
And remained in the dark.

Thus, each year at Christmas,
The tale is retold,
And man is reminded,
Of Jesus Christ's role.

Access to heaven,
God's gift to man,
God's Christmas Present,
The Start of His Plan!

Sharon, for several days I have clicked over to leave a comment, and I am too tired to leave the thoughtful one I was inclined to. But, I just keep looking at the pictures. They are beautiful and it is ALMOST like being there...in a tiny way I can feel the cold and the stillness. The crisp silence and overwhelming presence of God, because you just can't miss Him in the beauty of nature. especially when He has wrought such a show. I often think of what you mention. If we get such beauty here in this fallen earth, can you imagine what Heaven and the new earth will be like! Oh Lord! How wonderful He is, does ANYTHING really compare?

Thank you SO MUCH for taking these pictures and sharing them with us.

I love them all, but, if I had to pick favs it would be the snow crusted branch in front of the blue sky, as well as the snow crusted trees near the bank of the river.

MERRY, MERRY Christmas!!!!
Love you!
Maria

Sharon,

What lovely photos. I couldn't believe it when I heard how much snow you guys got. I think of your area as only getting a skiff of snow, if any. Absolutely beautiful.

We are having a green Christmas this year. No snow in sight. We set a record by having the first snowless November on record and we still haven't seen much. Just a little on the ground earlier this week, and it's gone. It's to rain all day tomorrow.

Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas. Thank you for the lovely card.

Blessings,
Mary
