Come, come now!

Come now!
all you who toil with wearisome effort
who feel loaded down with burden
and I will cause you
to cease from any movement
so that you may collect My strength and recover.
Rise up
 under my yoke
and walk and learn from Me
for I am gentle and humble in heart
 and you will listen
and know Me
and find rest for your soul.

I could really preach a sermon on these two verses.....but I won't. :)
You may notice that these verses sound a tad different.
I went into the Greek and found the true meaning of some of the words figuring that there were some great hidden truths....and they were there.
I pray this ministers to your soul the way it has mine.

Holy Spirit open the eyes and ears of the reader today.
Sink this truth down into the marrow of their bones.
Let them leave today knowing right where You have them.
Let them listen and know You and find rest for their souls.

Love ya girl....and yes I mean it. :)

So thankful He has brought me to a place of peace about this cessation of movement. Good stuff...I always love getting into the Greek...it does open up some verses in amazing new ways.

peace for the journey

I like both translations. I hope you're doing well. How's life in the mountains these days?

Thank you, Sharon, for touching my heart this morning. We must "be still" to know God, to feel God, to listen to God, to obsorb His love. Those moments that we draw nigh unto Him are so precious. Thank you for sharing.

Sharon,

Ever the teacher and investigator. I thank God for the desire for the deep and true things of Him that He put in you. Needed that at just this time. Makes me want to pull out the Greek dictionary. It's been so long. Thanks and love.

Sharon,

Thank you for bringing my attention to this verse and for searching for the hidden truths there. You are an excellent teacher and over the time I have known you, you have ministered to me through our Lord. For this, I thank you.

Just dropping by to let you know I'm hosting the Christmas book swap again this year. I do hope you will be able to participate. It was such fun last year.

Enjoy your day.
Blessings,
Mary

How awesome is that? Beautiful. Interestingly this sentiment was prayed over me yesterday with my prayer buddies - that I come to the Lord and have rest (and take off my backpack of burdens!). Actually it's very cool, there are 3 of us now praying together, and one lady is a Catholic, but Spirit filled, really on to it and seeking Jesus more and more.
