Another year older

Yes, it is true.....it is that time of year again. And as much as I would love to be able to share some of my Birthday cake with you.....well, it just can't happen. I know..you are crushed. :)
But, I got an idea from another friend who is having a b-day the day before mine......a birthday give away. How does that sound?
A few weeks ago I was hunting through a shop for a neat giveaway..and this is what I found.
It is called a friendship ball.
The person who first gives this ball fills it with something. It is a sweet little silver ball....sorry this picture does not do it credit. Anyway, the first person fills it with something(mine was already filled) and then they send it to a friend. Later on some special occasion the receiver refills it and sends it back to the friend. Now we are not going to do that.....but if you want to start this tradition with someone......you now have a friendship ball.
This is filled with bath goodies.

Here is what it looks like on the outside. It is sweet and has a little silver clamp to keep it closed.
Wouldn't this be a sweet tradition to share with a sister or even a daughter?
Might be a neat Christmas gift. ;)

Here is how this will work. In order to be entered in the drawing for this tiny trinket you must give a birthday quote in your comment. If you don't know one and know how to use google......copy and paste and you're in!
But those who don't leave a birthday quote....well, I know you all will. :)
Here is an example------
Thanks to modern medical advances such as antibiotics, nasal spray, and Diet Coke, it has become routine for people in the civilized world to pass the age of 40, sometimes more than once.
~Dave Barry, "Your Disintegrating Body," Dave Barry Turns 40, 1990
This will be up till the 27th as a sticky post....new post underneath.
On the 27th--my birthday--I will draw a name.
And your friendship ball will be on it's way!
Hey, just think of it as early Christmas shopping. ;)

Sharon,

The friendship ball idea is a terrific one.

I have two birthday quotes for you. No, I don't expect to be entered in the draw twice. Just thought you might enjoy them.

The older the fiddler, the sweeter the tune. English Proverb

Age is strictly a case of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter. - Jack Benny

Looking forward to your birthday post.

Blessings,

Today is my oldest daughter's birthday as well.

I love things like this. The friendship ball would be fun to pass around, if only my sisters didn't live so far away. But I do have a daughter & 2 DIL's...

Happy Birthday to the sweetest gal I know! Sending you an early birthday hug!

love,
Vicki

Once I was looking through the kitchen window at dusk and I saw an old woman looking in. Suddenly the light changed and I realized that the old woman was myself. you see, it all happens on the outside; inside one doesn't change. - Molly Keane

I just had to give you both of these....what a great gift idea

I will be back later to read your other posts....love ya

This is a great idea! I hope I win the friendship ball. I haven't said hi lately and I'm glad I stopped by today. I still think of you often. I've been busy awaiting grand-baby #5, who arrived last Monday morning.

HAPPY (EARLY) BIRTHDAY!! What a neat idea -- I've never heard of a friendship ball.

BTW, with the butter mixture you can add whatever kind of oil you'd prefer, so canola oil would probably not have as strong a taste as olive oil would. We used olive oil for the first batch and it was really good.

On a not so serious, hope my hubby turns out this way, sort of side--
