Have you heard about Pastor Bike?

A few years ago-- because I was trying to learn how to share with my Muslim friends-- I found a ministry called Voice Of The Martyrs.
It is so hard for me to imagine being thrown in jail, killed or tortured for His names sake.
I say or think I would gladly do it......but I know He would really have to supply the strength.
Recently I got another email from them and they were asking for bloggers who would share what was going on and try to get more involved in praying for those
who are being mistreated for His names sake.
Remember...these are our brothers and sisters.
Yesterday I got an email about a pastor who had recently been imprisoned.
Actually Pastor Bike and his wife have been imprisoned.
This all happened just before the Olympics began.
They are trying to get as many people as they can to sign a petition to help get Pastor Bike and his wife out of jail.
If you would like to sign the petition and read a little more about this man of God who crosses a communist area... on a bike... to boldly share about the one who saved his soul.....then please follow this link and add your name.

He is our brother...we can't visit him in jail like Jesus asked....but we can let him know and others know that we are here praying and caring.
This morning over 43,000 had already signed....they are trying for 100,000.
It only takes a second.

It's a sober thing to think about...all the people who are persecuted today for their faith. We live in such cooshy coosh here in America, we forget what struggles other people have, at least I do. I personally struggle with whether living in America is a blessing or a curse. While I have such freedom, it's so easy to get sucked into the ease and pleasure that comes with it.

I used to think that people used to be persucuted, like in the Dark Ages, "but hey, we are, like, SO over that barbarism!" when in reality it never ended...Most people today think of it for a moment, for a mere breath and then go on to talking about the latest football game or a favorite episode of Seinfeld whereas these Christians live as if that one breath was their last...

I don't see China keeping these folks imprisoned for long because the world is watching and will hold them accountable. Do you?

I've seen in less known news sources, where the Chinese government says they release prisoners, when in reality they hadn't. I also remember a couple years back where they came into a pastors house, beat him severely, arrested him, and then when Americans got involved, they released him from prison. BUT days later went back into the man's house, beat them again and took all their blankets and heaters so that they would freeze to death. I think other people came to their aid by supplying new heaters and such but just becasue these people get released, it doesn't mean they are left alone. The way things work in other countries is not how it works here. It's so sad. I wish I could do more than just pray for them.
