It Only Takes A Spark

It only takes a spark, to get a fire going.
And soon all those around, can warm up it it's glowing.

Chorus:
That's how it is with God's love, once you've experienced it, it's fresh like spring, you want to sing, you want to pass it on.

Verse 2
What a wondrous time is Spring
When all the trees are budding.
The birds begin to sing,
the flowers start their blooming.

Chorus:

Verse 3
I wish for you my friend
this happiness that I've found
You can depend on him
It matters not where your bound.

Last chorus:
I'll shout it from the mountain tops
I want the world to know
The Lord of Life has come to me
I want to pass it on.

Do any of you remember this song? I don't even remember when I first learned it, but I do know it was a looooooong time ago. The song invokes memories of sticky fingers from marshmallows and smoke in my eyes. Good memories. :) Ha Ha
I have been doing some thinking lately. And as surprising as that sounds to some of you who read my post---I do do it quite often. And, most of it I just talk to God about. Yes, consider yourself blessed. But, there are some times that I post things because I want to spark conversation. I posted something several days ago that I would have loved to have had a deep prolonged discussion about. I love a conversation with some good give and take. The kind that you walk away from going....hmmmmm. And, I like having my brain twisted every once in a while. I enjoy thinking about -what I think I know. Thinking about- what I think.
This used to drive my pastor crazy until he got to know me.(This lets you know that if I drive you crazy it won't be for long. I think it only took about three years with him. Ha!)

For those of you who post posts and do not want to spark conversation--sorry!
When my brain starts to buzzz with something new the Holy Spirit is talking to me about--I want to hold it up like a precious diamond and observe it from every angle. Then I want to show it to someone and say, So-what ya think?
And then it is on!
I feel the heat of the Spirit rising on the inside. I feel the affirmation of the good that is taking place on the inside as the sword of the spirit starts to work. I LOVE IT!
A little spark and I want to share it. Spread it!
Sit around it and talk about how we admire it. How it warms our insides. How if touched without respect-- it burns us. I could go on and on.
So.....I love when you leave comments. Sometimes when you do-- I would love to be able to pick up the phone and say, "Yes, how cool. And did you think about this? And, what do you think about this?"
I miss converstation that stretches my brain!
One of my friends once told me that her brain was not always up to following mine.
In other words-- I was making her brain tired. :)
That is o.k because she loves me anyway.
Don't you just love this ramble? Can you tell I want to talk?
How about this? If I ever leave a comment on your blog that goes on and on--you can be sure--I just want to talk. Engage if you like. Or feel free to say---TIRED BRAIN HERE!
Either way--you know where my heart is.
Now it is time to shut the brain down for the evening.
You----"\o/!!!!"
Me---- "I heard that!" ;)

i remember the first time i heard this song...i was trying to be a brand new Christian---I had prayed the 4 spiritual laws booklet about 26 times that year in college--- and went to carol at the Governor's mansion in Baton Rouge---wonder who was governor then back in early 70's...but we sang this song with Campus Crusade and had candles burning...i went cause it was the governor's house but God touched my soul that evening...a couple weeks later we were on the River Walk in San Antonio for New Year's eve singing that song and lit candles in a line that went for miles up and down the riverwalk...so impressive to a young teenager who was becoming alive to spiritual things...okay, i had a few hundred words too---what i really came here to tell you is that we have 85 ORPHANS SPONSORED AND ONLY 38 MORE TO GO...WOOHOO...can't thank you enough for the link!

First of all: I don't think that I have ever heard that song...love the words to it :)
Second: I make myself tired when I listen to my own thoughts...so I like to ramble in my head sometimes and wish someone else could listen to it, but I am to shy :)

Blessings on your day and always.

PS: Thank you for still reading what I am writing...

Ooooo, the memories you have "sparked" with these lyrics! Junior high youth group and Camp Greenwood...
Of course I wasn't even a Christian yet when I sang this song. The words have so much more meaning now. And I DO want to pass it on!

For me, that conjures up memories of sitting around a beach campfire at youth group- and figuring out how to sit next to the boy I was crushing on! Sometimes you do stretch my brain- that is a good thing. My brain needs exercise.

Me too! I was the head cook at a Christian Ranch/Summer Camp and we would have campfires sans marshmallows. So you want to have a deep conversation then, huh?

I've been racking my brain trying to figure out where our Christian rights are. Everyone wants to take "Christ" out of everything and yet Christ my reason for living. It appears as though "Atheism" is being forced on me. Not only am I offended but my personal rights where my faith and freedom of speech are being stolen from me and countless others. Isnt' there a law about that somewhere????

This song brings back such great memories of Young Life and Girl Scout Camp. I am just about to go to bed and that song will be on my mind as I fall asleep!

Hey! I love & remember that song! I went to sleep away summer camp once in my life time when I was about 13 or 14. My mother was religion hopping so we were currently going to a Methodist churh but some of the kids in the church went to a Seven-Day Adventist summer camp (I don't even know why, so don't ask!). But there at Camp Victory Lake is where I heard this song! It was one of the best summers of my life, besides the very frightening and totally aweful experience of having to eat veggie meat for a month! uuggh!

By the way I also love those very deep, thought provoking conversations and issues. The one downside to blogging is that you have to post and wait to see who, if anyone wants to be engaged in this virtual conversation, which is sometime frustrating.
Blessings!
