Memory Verse Monday

Memory Verse Monday is hosted by Karen of Karen's Ramblings. If you would like to join us read the following points and get your post up. Then go on over to Karen's and add your post to Mr Linky.

The aim of "Memory Verse Monday" is to:

1. Memorise a passage (or passages) of scripture.

2. Share why you have chosen the verse or verses that you have.

3. Encourage one another with God has been saying to you through this verse.

4. Share the ways in which you find remembering verses works for you.

I have just recently started Beth Moore's study-- Stepping Up-a journey through the Psalms of Ascent. This is a portion of scripture that the Jews would recite on their way to the temple for feasts. Beth has asked us to memorize the 121st Psalm as we are going through the six week study. So for this next week I will memorize one and two.

I think it will be good to memorize this. It is so real. These people were on a journey and Beth reminds us that many times their journeys were full of danger and it would only take a small accident out in the middle of no where to end their life. I am reminded that I can call for help at almost anytime if I get in some type of physical danger or trouble. But in times of spiritual trouble there is only ONE who can give us the help we need. How cool would it be, to be so sure that our help comes from THE LORD that we could boldly declare---MY HELP COMES FROM THE LORD? Not a friend, nor a bank, nor a credit card, nor some lucky number, not even the love of our life--but THE CREATOR OF HEAVEN AND EARTH. I pray that sinks into my mind and heart as as I memorize these verses this week.

Psalm 121(HCSB)
The LORD Our Protector
A song of ascents.
1 I raise my eyes toward the mountains.
Where will my help come from? (A)

2 My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth. (B)

3 He will not allow your foot to slip;
your Protector will not slumber. (C)

4 Indeed, the Protector of Israel
does not slumber or sleep. (D)

5 The LORD protects you;
the LORD is a shelter right by your side. (E) [a]

6 The sun will not strike you by day,
or the moon by night. (F)

7 The LORD will protect you from all harm;
He will protect your life. (G)

8 The LORD will protect your coming and going
both now and forever.

Hey Sharon, it's great to know where we can go to for help. It's also important to know that God is the only one who can help us in all ways in our lives.
Hope you find this study helpful.

Loved your pics btw. Hoping Paw Paw is okay following the op?

I agree with halfmoon girl. There are so many verses that we can call up when we are being attacked by the enemy if we only take time to memorize them.

This post is just lovely. Thanks so much for sharing.

Blessings,
Mary

great verse...He doesn't slumber but lets us slumber and forces us to every night take a rest from the cares of the day but yet He never slumbers---says it twice too...thanks, I needed to hear that tonight as I slumber...
