The God of Abraham...my God

I know some of you read Mr Oswald Chambers....this morning this hit me.
Kind of puts new understanding to the verse...lean not to your own understand, but in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths. ;)
And I quote.....Whenever God gives a vision to a Christian, it is as if He puts it in the "the shadow of His hand" (Isa 49:2). The saint's duty is to be still and listen. There is a "darkness" that comes from too much light-that is the time to listen. The story of Abram and Hagar in Genesis 16 is an excellent example of listening to so-called good advice during a time of darkness, rather than waiting for God to send the light.
When God gives you a vision and darkness follows, wait.
God will bring the vision He has given you to reality in your life if you will wait on His timing.
Never try to help God fulfill His word.
(and in the meantime)

...........There is never any need to pretend that your life is filled with joy and confidence; just wait upon God and be grounded in Him. (Isa 50:10-11)

I can not even begin to tell you the things in this that hit me at gut level.
I am a thinker...not bad when it comes to meditating on Him. But for most of my life I have tried to figure out ways to help God. Like He needs help figuring out my days and my future. You know those IF thoughts?
I am a pro at those thoughts.
And yet this past week God began to remind me that that needed to stop. And so-once again- I began the practice of putting up the mental hand to my thoughts.
There is never a place so secure as in Daddy God's hands.
And so I began the journey back to those hands.
Admitting the condition and the state I was in was the first big step. I was a mess...depression at the deepest two weeks ago....never been there before. And honestly, I just wanted it all to be over.
Yes, I just asked Him to take me.
But He had and has a purpose and a plan....He is not just trying to squish me like a roach. :)
And then last week something in me started to change.
He was working...He is faithful!
He had a plan and He has been working it for awhile.
The process is not finished....but today we got a huge blessing from Him that we were not expecting.
It was a huge boost to my faith. And a great big hug from Him.
As you know we were down to the end.....or so our physical eyes told us. ;)
I can't tell you the humiliation I have experienced because of that....but there was also a huge lesson in that....but that is for another time.
So.....God has provided for us by our taxes!
Last year what we got back would not even pay a months rent. And since we had made so much less.....I wasn't expecting anything. And boy were we in for a surprise....He is so faithful!
I feel like I got a huge wink from God tonight.
It is so lovely to know that He has been working on this surprise for a YEAR!
Thank you for your prayers....DO NOT STOP!
He has a plan and He is using the body to bring it to fruition.
I love Him and I love you.
But I think both of you already knew that. ;)
Be blessed as you have blessed!
Hope this post makes some kind of sense because honestly my thoughts are all over the place. ;)

Strength? What strength? All of our strength is His strength in us. Real strength anyhow. :) Okay, well that's what I've been feeling these days anyhow. Thought if you knew you're not alone in some of your thoughts, it would bring a smile to your day.

We so grow in the darkness and our faith is EVER before our face. It is when HE is so silent that our ears learn to pick up the most finite whisper from HIM. Strength... it comes from knowing that HE is... regardless of what we see..

We are dancing with you! Praying for you! Looking for that cloud on the horizon to bring the rain! (Elijah - remember that?!)

I too have felt that desire to go home! But, He is not finished with us by far! He has much for us to do!

love you!
