Just a little giveaway for MONDAY!

If you noticed in my sidebar I have been enjoying The Mitford series by Jan Karon.
If you have not picked these books up for a good read....... I highly recommend it!
This woman has an incredible love for the Lord and it shines through her characters.
You will fall in love with the people of Mitford and wish you could hope in your car and run on over for a long visit with Father Tim and his wife Cynthia.
I'll bet Mrs Esther would even make one of her Orange Marmalade cakes for the special visit. ;)

Moving to this area almost a year ago I didn't realize how desperately my soul needed healing.
God began a work on my heart and mind and I believe He rounded things out when I finished reading these books.
WHAT!?
That is right...... God used something else besides the Bible to bring about healing in my life.
I did send a little email along to Mrs Karon.....I do hope she gets it.
I could just give her a big hug.

Now I have finished the latest book by Mrs Karon.....and I am going to give this gently read
hard back away.
It is called...HOME TO HOLLY SPRINGS.
It is first in the new series of the Father Tim novels.
I know some of you have read the Mitford series and if you have not read this.... you will enjoy it.
You'll get introduced to a whole new group of characters as Father Tim goes home to Mississippi for the first time in over 30.
God uses this time to bring healing to his heart and soul.
Healing for him and me!

If you would like to have this book...which you can still read and understand even if you have not read the Mitford series....just leave me a comment!
I will draw a name Monday and get it in the mail to the next owner.
Love you guys....thanks for being part of the healing process too!
Have a fantastic weekend.

Hi Sharon...sounds like a good book by your review...I have not read any of Kan Karon's books... but it sounds like something that I would enjoy...I've been reading inspirational romance books put out by Steeple Hill...I really like them...I picked up a book by Jan Karon "At Home in Mitford" at a yard sale a while back but have not read it yet. I'm glad you are doing well...you sound great.

God bless.

I have read all of Jan Karon's books. They ARE healing. Truly wonderful! My boys used to keep asking me what I was laughing about. I would laugh right aloud as I read. So glad they ministered to you. I do not want to be part of the drawing. I have won something from you already and have read her books...I just watned to say...love ya!

I read the Mitford series but didn't realize she had others...I think I need to catch up. My "healing moment" breakthrough last week came thanks to Grey's Anatomy a VERY WORLDLY TV show. One line was spoken and some pretty hefty walls came crashing down....so good....we can not put God in a box...He will and can use ANYTHING to minister to us. Wherever He finds us...He can speak to the depths of our being. SWEET!

You were asking about hobbies...well besides this crazy new blogging world that I am having WAY TOO MUCH FUN getting to know amazing ladies all over the world....hmmmm, knitting (mostly for different charities), gardening and reading.

I'm thinking reading through the Mitford series books would be fun for the summer....since recall is short around here...it would be like reading them for the first time.

Hope you have a GRAND weekend!

RYC: a young girl used to call me for advice (started putting me up on a pedestal in my thinking)...anyway she was reading a book called Blue Like Jazz...somehow she thought I knew so much about God that I should write a book. I have LOVED my grey hair coming in...a great aunt taught me long ago that the Bible says that is a sign of wisdom. Our little diva dog's name is snuffie. So this girl put all these thoughts together and thought I should call the book "Grey Like Snuffie". That's how the name came about. I've fallen off so many pedestals....like all of us I "know" a lot but don't always live it out. But the name seems fun to me, so I've kept it.

I've read them all, so don't enter me, but I agree. Her words are soothing and healing and come from a place of deep understanding.

Happy Mother's Day. God's blessings to you in your mountain wandering this week.
