Memory Verse Monday

Memory Verse Monday is hosted by Karen of Karen's Ramblings. If you would like to join us read the following points and get your post up. Then go on over to Karen's and add your post to Mr Linky.

The aim of "Memory Verse Monday" is to:

1. Memorise a passage (or passages) of scripture.
2. Share why you have chosen the verse or verses that you have.
3. Encourage one another with God has been saying to you through this verse.
4. Share the ways in which you find remembering verses works for you.
----------------------------------------
Last week I shared that I had decided to memorize this passage because of a Bible study I am doing by Beth Moore. Last week I memorized the first two verses and this coming week I am to memorize the next two.
There are many times in life when you look at your hands and they are full. You look at your spouses hands and they are full. And nothing in your life seems to make sense to you or those around you. It may even seem as if God is separating you from the things that have been very important to you. And in all the Topsy turvy of the time- you look up and realize you really need help. Help with so many things that you are not even really sure what you would tell someone you need help with.
This week in the midst of all the doctors visits- I found myself in a very insecure spot. I stood in front of the mirror and wondered how I would manage all that I needed to handle. There is only so much of me and I have so many to give to. They are all very needy at the moment.
As I looked in the mirror I thought-what am I going to do? How will I manage?
At that moment my verse came to mind. I was looking to the future or the mountains wondering how I could make it. Then the next verse came to mind.
I looked at myself and spoke it out loud.

I looked myself square in the eyes and said with a bold voice--"my help comes from the LORD, the maker of heaven and earth!"
I can only tell you that what happened in my spirit was incredible. It was as if the shoulders on the inside that had been slumping-suddenly were squared. Strong. Firm.
I thought-NOW TAKE THAT!
This coming week looks as if it may be a little more quiet. We are still waiting for appointments that have to be scheduled. But, I will take it one day at a time.
WHY?
Because Someone has my hand. He sees what is coming.
And.....

3 He will not allow my (your) foot to slip;
my (your) Protector will not slumber.

4 Indeed, the Protector of Sharon (Israel)
does not slumber or sleep.

So this week I will concentrate on the one who is always watching. The one who never gets tired. The one who never sleeps. I am never out of His watchful eye and loving care. And neither are you. He sees when we have had too much and we will not admit it. He sees when you can't tell anyone what you are going through because you don't know how. And in those times when you just need to sit in peace and rest your head on someones strong shoulder--He is there. He never misses the signals.

Psalm 121(HCSB)
The LORD Our Protector-A song of ascents.
1 I raise my eyes toward the mountains.
Where will my help come from? (A)

2 My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth. (B)

3 He will not allow your foot to slip;
your Protector will not slumber. (C)

4 Indeed, the Protector of Israel
does not slumber or sleep. (D)

5 The LORD protects you;
the LORD is a shelter right by your side. (E) [a]

6 The sun will not strike you by day,
or the moon by night. (F)

7 The LORD will protect you from all harm;
He will protect your life. (G)

8 The LORD will protect your coming and going
both now and forever.

Wow, there is a lot going on for you Sharon and this is a busy time of year too. I am so glad that you have been able to look up and speak out that the Lord is your helper, and I pray that he helps you in every aspect you need right now. May He increase your faith and strengthen your hands. xxx

Sharon, This verse is one I used while in labor for my daughter. My husband had wanted me to get an abortion but I stood firm. He'll get you through as this is a teaching to draw you closer to Him. Seek God as you are doing and never give up hope. See my post today for some encouragement and a battle cry....

Hey Sharon, I had such a clear picture of you standing infront of that mirror. Karen has often encouraged me to speak out the word of God because it is so very powerful. May you feel that loving grip of the Father's hand on your shoulder when you are tempted to look at the mountain and despair!
Hugs
