A good weekend

It was a beautiful weekend--and I wish it did not have to end. SERIOUSLY!
But.......time to return to my duties. I did spend a lot of time sleeping but I took some pictures to prove that was not the only thing I did. We don't have much color from the trees in our neck of the woods but I did find some red berries in a tree.
And there was some slight color in the trees in front of the pond. Yes, you girls up north don't know what you have. We are pretty much green year round.

On Saturday afternoon I was taking a lovely nap. I had just finished reading a book on Rahab by Francine Rivers-and was drifting in and out of sleep when the boom, boom woke me. I decided that I was there to spend time with Keith so I got up joined him outside.
I am not really into the whole gun thing so I just played with the bullet casings after he sighted in his guns.
He finished what he had to do and then we ran to gets some marshmallows to go with our fire that evening.

Lovely art and my shadow. I needed one more casing to make a good cross but by the time I got one my battery went dead. I am sure this would make a great visual aid of what God did to Satan on the cross.

I love camp fires. Love the smell and Love sitting by them when it is cool outside.
And, occasionally I enjoy having a few of those fluffy white things that taste so much better toasted over an open fire.
He did a great job! And it was just for me! Yes, I felt special.

We sat there and the fire died down----then the stars in the sky became really bright. I don't have a very fancy camera but I thought they must be bright enough to be picked up by me. So I aimed at the sky and shot. I was very surprised to see on the camera screen what I saw Looks like it is snowing doesn't it? I wish!
It amazed me that I could not see all the soot flying around in the air with my natural eye. Add the brightness of the flash and I could see all the mess in the air.
Yes, another nice spiritual visual aid.

It is still a beautiful picture.
And yes--I was a happy camper.
Please excuse the natural look-after all that is what camping is all about.
Yes, it is a goofy grin but it is better than the one of me trying to not toast my fingers along with the marshmallow. The fire was a little hot.
I guess it was more like a bon fire.

Well since you are not going to kidnap me- I guess I will have to take a rain check. Paw Paw has a doctors appointment at 10:00 tomorrow. Don't think I will have time to go there and back. :(

Sharon,

I did get my writing done and all sent to the editor by last night. He was very understanding.

If the insurance company approves the repairs, we should have it back in a couple of weeks. I'm sure they will. They aren't going to want to pay out for a write-off if it can be fixed.

Thanks for your comments on my post. Have a terrific week.

Blessings,
Mary
