Pray like mad!

Ever wonder the lengths our Lord will go to to get through to us?
Maybe he could use family.
Like having someone you love dearly say--"I know you pray for us every day".
Ouch!
And then I pop over to someones blog and she is talking--in a very loving way--about those who
are always putting on a fake face.
Now ya'll know I have had my "Moments".
Probably days when ya'll dreaded coming in for a landing on my sweet little blog.
But at the risk of sounding repetitive--can I say it again--OUCH!
Next, we went to church and I don't know where it came from (not true), but I heard
Bro Tim say (I wonder if any one else heard it) pray even if you don't feel like it.
And if I may go on---notice the word from Beth Moore
this past weekend to the ladies in Omaha--

Beloved, in the Name of Jesus
I commission you
To rejoice in the Lord always
And again I say rejoice.
Stop worrying about everything!
Dump your anxiety
And start praying like mad.
Start thinking about
What you're thinking about!
Start feeding your spirit
And stop feeding your flesh.
Never forget the true Secret:
Christ in you, the Hope of Glory!
You, Dear One, have the supernatural CAN DO!
Now, believe God
And turn your CAN DO
Into WILL DO!
You are NOT a wimp.
You are a warrior.
In the Name and power of Christ
Go out there and act like one.

So what is the point of all these little remembrances?
ME.
Ever go through those time when you pray like mad--to the point of exhaustion--and then
you quit.
Yep--------you empty out your soul, lay down one of your greatest weapons against that
being we all are allowed to hate....
and then you can't seem to be able to pick it up again.
I know we can all identify with this example.

What about the time you went on a diet and you were so in to it....and it was working.
And then events came along and you partook of the feast and then the day or so after you could not seem to get your heart back in the game.
Identify?
So....now I know without a shadow that my Daddy God in Heaven is telling me... "I miss you".
You mean He is not mad at me for not talking to Him as much lately?
No.
Hurt?
Yes.
And yes, I miss Him too.
So if like me, you have fallen off the wagon--I hope it is o.k to use the phrase--
it is time to get back on board and lets call a circling of the wagons.
Those of you who are feeling a little weak--
head for the center of the circle and we will begin to lift our voices.
He promises that he will be right there in the midst with you.

I love you guys!
Thanks for your thoughts.
Thank you to those who are so willing to "Keep it real".

So to all those warriors out there--"IT'S TIME TO ACT LIKE ONE".
PRAY, PRAY- and then pray some more!
Let's give that devil the what for.

Yes it is that keeping on, keeping going. I know I'm talking about 'plateauing' a lot today, but it can happen in the prayer life too. Looks like nothing is happening and then giving up and slowing down some be it in exercise, eating style or prayer. Prayer is my passion, but we all become discouraged at times. We are having some issues with Master 6 at the moment, some difficult behaviour at School - not major but enough to get him in the Office once last week and once this week. I refuse to start self-doubting my parenting skills, even thought - hey am I not praying enough for him? Well I'm going to not quit, I'm going to pray more. If the Devil wants to taunt me with ' you haven't prayed enough', well what better thing to do anyway - I'll talk (pray) to God about it even more!

I hear you my friend! I have got to keep a list with requests and praises and updates or I will forget or they are "surface" prayers, help them, bless them, etc. I can be so focused at times on a particilar need that I forget all others and then can't believe I could ever forget... But I am going to do what Beth says: stop worrying about everything, dump the anxiety, pray like mad!

Praying, praying, praying! No lie...praying is what I do...it's what Chris calls me everyday (when things get tight) to do. I will gladly and happily go on doing that. Our friends know we will and that we aren't just saying it.

Today? I pray for you Sister, that God will make a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland for you all...glad I made you laugh! You ougtta see my skinned nose! Off to make breakfast for the kids before school...
Love,
Holly

((( hugs ))) No, I never cringe at your posts. I think that you speak from the heart. And I know the 'deserts' that we sometimes experience -- in our devotional times, in our prayer times. I hear you and it's a great reminder. After all, who are we without Him? D
