“By perseverance the snail reached the ark.”
~ Charles Spurgeon
My daughter used to love watching Spongebob in the mornings after she got ready for school. Every morning her goal was to get breakfast, get dressed and be ready for Spongebob to start. And, because she had a goal, she was persistently consistent.
One of Spongebob's friends is a snail who's name is, Gary.
Gary, does not talk, but he is Spongebob's faithful companion. Spongebob has another friend, his name is Patrick. One day Spongebob thought he had lost his dear friend, the snail, to Patrick. Gary followed Patrick all over the place and if allowed would crawl all over Patrick
and sit on his back- soon becoming his constant companion.
Gary did not seem to want to come home and Spongebob was crushed.
Just as Spongebob was about to give up on his relationship with Gary,
Patrick pulled a cookie out of his back pocket and gave it to Gary.
Spongebob, now realized that Gary was just trying to get to the cookie.
He had his persistent little friend back.

He promises that the fervent prayers of a righteous man availeth much.
Do I always see those results right away? No.
Do I sometimes want to give up? Yes.
Spongebob was just about ready to give up on Gary, and then he realized the truth--Gary was just doing whatever he had to do to get to the cookie.
Will I do whatever I have to do to get to my goal?
Today, I must be like Gary.
Like the snail- I must continue to head toward the goal.
What is my goal? To live a life that will move the heavens when I pray.
Will I always see the results right away?------- No.
But, I have been promised that if I persist and do not give up---I will see results.
I think that deserves an, Amen.
Or, in the famous words of Gary,
